Welcome to Camellia & Oak
After years of being “the crafty friend” and an art degree later, I decided to start a small business. As a parent of 2 small children, my home is constantly full of arts and crafts, and there are few things that bring me more joy than lovingly crafting something that brings a smile to someone’s face.
My business is for: the busy parent who doesn’t have time, the person who isn’t very artsy, the person who struggles to find the perfect gift, the person who wants something unique. My business is for YOU – let’s make the perfect gift.
Who is Kristen
I was born in New Orleans, the youngest of 5 children. We moved to Mississippi when I was in third grade. As the youngest, I got to learn so much from my older siblings and their many interests and hobbies. I was constantly trying to copy them and do everything they did (much to their chagrin). But I learned so many things along the way.
In college, I received a degree in Art History and Studio Art. During this time I took classes in drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. After graduating, I began a career in marketing, while continuing to do crafts on the side for friends and family. I eventually earned my MBA, but have continued to grow my crafting skills and learn new mediums.
Art has always brought me immense joy, and I finally decided to start offering my skills to others. Camellia & Oak was created with a simple vision in mind – to help people bring their own creative ideas to life.
Services
I sell handmade items and gifts, and I do personal commissions. I help people come up with unique designs and gifts for their loved ones (or business). With over 10 years experience in graphic design and skills in over a dozen artistic mediums, I can help bring your creative vision to life by designing the perfect gift or item.
